Conditions Treated
by Therapeutic Massage
Increasingly research studies
are showing that getting a massage
reduces the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases the
circulation of blood
and lymph fluids, while relaxing muscles, and improving
joint range of
motion. Massage also d increases endorphins. While therapeutic massage does not increase
muscle strength, it does help in maintaining muscle tone. It stimulates weak, inactive muscles
at least partially compensating for the lack of exercise and
inactivity resulting from illness or injury. Recovery from
certain muscular injuries is aided by certain types of
massage.
